Farewell 2012

Rather, I should say, good riddance, 2012.  You were not my favorite year.  You were not the most fun, nor the most encouraging.  You were certainly the most difficult.  I think in the future I may look back on you and think, "Geez, 2012 kind of sucked."

That being said, we can't go anywhere but up, right?  And rather than focusing on the negative, let's focus on the positive of 2012.
It started with a lucky premonition in a fortune cookie.
And was filled with fun trips to the beach
KSY gave the post office a run for it's money.
Our travels to Texas were adventurous.
And our farm trips were plentiful.
We went on a relaxing vacay with the fam.
And then spent more time on the beach.
Finally moved my parents into their new house, and acquired a rustic barn.
And celebrated Thanksgiving together in our pajamas, just the way we like it.

So I guess we have a lot to be thankful for in 2012.  Fun times with good people to balance out the stress and difficulty.  What will 2013 bring?  I have no idea.

  1. After writing this, did you go back and reread it in its entirety? I'm guessing that you did. Trips to the beach, our Texas trip, your parents' new home, etc...it wasn't such a bad year, after all. Things can always be better AND things can always be worse. So for this year, I'll choose to dwell on the positive as I reflect. Your post got me off to a great start! The raspberries look delicious, by the way!
