Resolutions?

Happy New Year's Eve!  I feel like I've been on a two-week vacation full of shopping and wrapping and cleaning and driving and visiting, with no work or blogging in between.  Is it dorky to say that I'm excited for January 2 when life will go back to normal?  When I can actually get some work done, restore my routine, and send Nick back to work five days a week?

Seriously though.  Hubby needs to work five days a week.  Or the wife accomplishes nothing but daytime movies and daily outings, and someone starts to get a little stir-crazy.

Anyhoo, anybody else excited for 2013?  New beginnings and fresh starts and resolutions and all that blah blah blah?  For 2013 I'm going to take the advice of an old friend and "just keep cooking how I'm cooking," meaning I'm not going to be making any changes.  I'm going to keep chugging along, working on what we're working on, and hope for the best.  And try to keep a good attitude along the way.

I will be making my annual KSY wish list, including a new sales count, a new inventory count, and perhaps even a Super-Vacation with a capital S.  But we'll see.  I'd also like to get a car (because being 28 and never owning a car is either super-cool, or super-lame).  And finishing (really, starting) the renovations on our bathroom need to happen sooner or later.  I think those are enough faux resolutions for one year.  I'm probably not going to rejoin the gym.  Or change my eating habits.  Or take up a new hobby, although I may drop of a few.  Keep cooking how I'm cooking.  That's good enough for me.

And speaking of cooking, tonight I planned on making a seven fish feast that we missed on Christmas.  But then we decided that was excessive.  So we'll have a little beef, and maybe a little lobster, and some delish spinach dip, and ring in the new year in relaxed style.  How are you celebrating tonight?

  1. Celebrated last night? Well, I wouldn't call it a celebration, exactly. Hubby was asleep, dogs were asleep, and I pooped out < 15 minutes before midnight! It was nice having the lights twinkling on the Christmas tree(s) and enjoying the ambiance of my cool battery-operated candles! Earlier, we watched, "Fever Pitch"...it was Bill's first time watching it. I could see it over and over just for the great 2004 series clips!!!

I understand your anticipation for January 2nd and getting life back to normal. As wonderfully fun as the holidays are, it's a relief to get back to the comfort of our normal, every-day lives.

While watching the Rose Bowl Parade, I was able to sort through my jewelry drawers and separate items needing a jeweler's attention from the rest of my pieces. It was cleansing and freeing to accomplish that today.

Resolutions? Nothing specific, although I would like to shed some weight. It's easy for me to lose weight...if I would just MAKE BETTER PORTION CHOICES AND GET BACK TO MY WALKING AND MY YOGA!!!

I would love to hear others' resolutions1
