Happy Valentine's Day, friends! Are you V-day lovers or haters? I'm a little bit in-between. I love valentines and fun dates and all that good stuff, but I guess I could take it or leave it. I'm happy with dinner at home and The Office. I'm happy with take-out and a movie. And I'm also happy with swanky dinner dates. We've had quite a few V-days together, and we've been up and down the date spectrum. I can honestly say that I had just as much fun the year that we had Chinese take-out in the rain as much as the year we went to the Top of the Hub and ate a five-course meal.
Okay, maybe the food was better on the second option. But the company was equally as lovely.
Circa 2009. Boy, we looked young. That was the year that we watched 5 different couples get engaged as we ate our very long dinner. That was the year that we were
not engaged yet, and I was very patiently waiting. That was the year I thought that maybe this handsome boy would take the opportunity to propose on Valentine's Day at the most lovey-dovey restaurant in the city. I was wrong.
All's well that ends well. We were engaged a month later. So I forgave him.
I think this year will be a sushi and movie kind of year. So, do you love or hate V-day?

Happy Valentine's Day, friend! I love today! I have such fond memories of this day from my childhood (and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my annual v-day package from my mom). I love baking heart-themed treats for my co-workers and reminding people how special they are. -Lisa
ReplyDeletei don't hate or love this day. we choose not to celebrate it as we show our love for each other every day of the yr. so today is no different for us than any other day of the wk!
